we made a game!

This is the result of what my group contributed for the Global Game Jam that took place last weekend. For those that haven't heard of it before, the main idea of the jam is that people all over the globe make games during 48 hours.  So, it can be quite stressful. Or just a reason to stay up for 48 hours straight in a room filled with nothing but computers, energy drinks and incredibly unhealthy food.
Anyways, this is the result of our ~32 hours of work (because my group was one of the few that actually had some time to sleep). I'm quite proud at the result, considering how little time we had. Could be optimized a bit more (right now it's quite hard to beat), but oh well.
What i contributed for our game: graphics for the creatures, sprite-animations for most creatures and algae-ish plants and the stars.

uselessness

for the first time in ages i have a little free time on my hands. wondrous. magnificent. incredible.
i had almost forgotten this feeling. i feel like i could do just about anything.

nothing.

i just feel useless. like i should do something.
but what

i know.
i'll write about feeling useless on my blog.

there's a wonderful game i should tell you about. in case there's anyone out there who happens to like small, strange and simple games. it's not that special, really. and that's actually why i think it's so special. just a little something to experience.
and well, i just love those quadratic heads. guess it gives me hope for the future or something. studying computer game graphics all you hear is "flashy 3D-graphics is of utter importance, normal maps, bump maps, anything so it looks as realistic as possible".
but, guess what? it is possible to make fascinating and beautiful games without all that flashy shit. like this game: gravity bone. and oh. did i mention it's free for download?
